Australia-native Leigh Heggie moved to London when she turned 20 after cooking for several years in
her hometown. She hoped to pursue a career in fine restaurants. After
working for Michelin Star restaurants The Square and 190 Queensgate,
Leigh decided to return to sunny Australia where she landed a position
with the famous Rockpool in Sydney as the Front of House Manager.
Leigh eventually became Managing Coordinator for the prestigious
Catering Department of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art. This
career eventually lead to Leigh's first, but not last, successful
entrepreneurial endeavor: The co-creation of two restaurants in Sydney
with her sister, Gina.
In 1998 it became
apparent that a big move was again in Leigh's future. Leigh moved to
beautiful Hawaii and decided to get back to her roots as a chef and
pursue her love of pastry making and cake decoration. "Hawaii had a
huge gap in the wedding cake market - beautiful, affordable wedding
cakes that tasted good too! I wanted to create special cakes couples
would remember." Leigh is anxious to work with you to create the
wedding cake of your dreams! |
